February Truck Talk
“February Truck Talk”
Truckload Increases 15%
The trailers have not been empty! J&P Hall Express’s truckload division experienced a 15% increase in volume in January vs. December. Historically, there is a drop off in volume after the end of the fourth quarter. However, due to a variety of reasons surrounding covid 19, the ocean port congestion combined with global market conditions, the normal January decline did not happen.
We would like to thank all our customers for the confidence they have shown in our FTL team! We will continue to provide additional capacity to handle all of your truckloads and hot shot EUV’s around the clock. We appreciate the business!
If you have customers requiring refrigerated shipment handling, please call our team today! We have an experienced team ready to build PMC igloos or whatever you might need!

US Dept. of Labor Ruling
Employee vs. ContractorThe final rule explains that independent contractors are workers who, as a matter of economic reality, are in business for themselves as opposed to being economically dependent on the potential employer for work.
Meet Our Team
Meet our warehouse manager Devin Reed! Devin was born on November 20th 1977 in New Orleans, LA where he lived until he moved to Georgia in 2005 after hurricane Katrina. He graduated from L.E. Rabouin Career Magnet High School and went on to Sydney Collier Community College. Devin’s first job in the freight industry was with Swissport Cargo Services and joined the J&P Hall Express team a little over two years ago.
Devin finds the daily fast paced nature of the transportation side of the industry to be rewarding and his experience thus far with J&P Hall Express has been the most challenging of his career. He has learned how to cry and smile at the same time! It can go from calm to a hurricane at the drop of a hat! Like when a customer calls and tells us they have a floor loaded container to break and get distributed, oh and the container will be at your dock in 30 minutes! Making it all happen for our customers is what makes it so rewarding. The constant fast pace changes are what makes my job so exciting. Devin said, “I live for the thrill and wouldn’t change a thing.”
We asked Devin to tell us something about himself that most people would not know. We were shocked to learn that when he was a young boy, he nailed a back flip from the top of a two-story building! He landed perfectly on his feet!
Devin has been married for 20 years to his wife, Aisha and they have two boys Devin and De’Viren. When Devin is not making things happen for our customers, he loves to fish, spending time with his family, which he refers to them as his Martians! He also enjoys just relaxing in his big lounge chair watching a good movie.
